[►] So I logged in SL last night thinking..what am I gonna do..kinda blah, but I’ll figure something out, right? As soon as I rez in, I’ve got this offline from a name I haven’t seen in years..and I don’t mean 1 or 2 years..I mean closer to 4 years. I was so shocked and so excited at the same time! One of my oldest and craziest friends has returned to SL after a whole lot of time away. The kicker is, she’s also a Bella..so ya know, if one Bella is awesome..2 Bellas must be outstanding! lol So we did some catching up and then today I kidnapped her for a blog post. I barely helped her catch up with the SL changes that have happened. I think she did amazing with updating everything! We both spent some time shopping at some of the ongoing events and you can see all the stuff we lucked out on below! Did I mention I’m so glad she’s back? She was my partner in crime for the longest time. I fully expect to be raisin’ a little hell again. Yessss. ❤
[►] Maci Restless of Lil’ Miss Fashion Cupcake and I got together today and decided to tandem blog. I love blogging with people, it’s always fun to put together outfits and gossip (aka play barbies like in middle school lol). Anyways, we both had some really cute stuff we wanted to share. We were obviously both feeling rather Springy, which I think is pretty well reflected in our color choices and atmosphere. A lot of what we’re both wearing can be picked up at the new round of FaMESHed that began today. I’ve listed below all of my outfit details, per usual. You can click over to her blog a bit later to find details on her outfit! Thanks for blogging with me, Maci! ❤
[►] As most of you know, I have been extraordinarily busy the past few weeks. I started The Ego Co. and decided my first jump into events would be an all mesh hunt called Mesh Around. Well, the hunt began this past Friday and yes, there are some great gifts in it. I’m also sporting some of the awesomeness that will be available soon at the Chic2 Birthday event. I’d be remiss not to suggest you check out both events. But, this post is more than that. A lot more.
I don’t often write very much with my blog posts, but I have a lot to say. I think I’ll start with “Thank You.” Thank you all so much for your support, interest and participation in making The Ego Co. and this hunt so successful. I am completely overwhelmed with the encouragement and appreciation I have received since this all started. Thank you to The Ego Co. staff and bloggers. You guys have all worked so hard and continue to. I am so grateful for all the time and effort you have put into this. Thank you to the designers for creating such wonderful items and giving them away. The donation of your time and effort has not gone unnoticed and I can’t thank you guys enough. Thank you to the hunters. You’ve all come out in droves and being so kind and helpful to each other. I have really never seen so many people willing to help each other as in The Ego Co. group chat. Without you all, this hunt doesn’t happen.
And now, time for a little personal mush. The two ladies in this post with me, Clementine Ishtari and Tyr Rozenblum are magical. They have both helped me in so many ways and not just with the hunt. Tyr is always there, encouraging me to do more and be my best. And Clem is always there to listen and pick me up when I fall. I don’t know what I would do without these two. They anchor me. They keep me grounded but push me to fly at the same time. I feel lucky that I can count these two as friends.
[►] It’s been a very long, very hectic couple of weeks for me. As busy as I’ve been, as distant as I’ve been, and as neglectful as I’ve been, I’m so lucky that I have friends that look past that stuff and love me anyways. Thanks for being there when the rest of the world fell away. ♥
“If the sky above you should turn dark and full of clouds and that old north wind should begin to blow, keep your head together and call my name out loud. Soon I will be knocking upon your door. You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am I’ll come running to see you again. Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call and I’ll be there.”
[►] While I was out today, I ran across this sim: Eagle Crest. It’s modeled after an old run down carnival and a fantastic spot to take pictures. It’s very dreary and weathered. I really couldn’t help but be reminded of my hometown, a little hole in the wall town in the southern US. I guess on first impression, you’d think I’m your typical southern girl. I have the accent, I have the smooth slowness of the southern stereotypical southern girl’s personality, I have the huge family, spread out from one end of the county to the next. But in reality, I was never and have never been your typical southern girl. I was kind of a square peg in a round hole there, always looking for a way out. I was never meant to be a small town girl, much to my parents chagrin.
When I got a little older, I started to rebel in whatever way I could..whatever way I felt would show everybody that I would definitely be the one getting out of that small town. I dyed my hair crazy colors, I sneaked out and went to concerts at clubs I shouldn’t have been able to get in, I wore short skirts and lots of jewelry…and I tried desperately to get lose my accent. I’m a bit older now, I still dye my hair, wear short skirts and lots of jewelry and I did make it out of that small town. I never could lose that accent though. This Counting Crows song, Round Here, will always and forever remind me of those years.
Enough rambling, huh? Sorry it’s 6:30 am and I haven’t really slept yet..so please excuse the introspection. The look I put together for this post is kind of a throw back to me, age 16. There’s so much I love about this post (including the new mesh skirt I just released at .evolve.) *insert shameless self-promotion. The new skin from Body Co, Petal, is one that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. I’ve been looking for a skin to make me look a lil bit older for awhile and this one does! I need a break from looking like a kid. These new boots from *Crazy* make me very, very happy too. I find myself loving mesh more and more all the time. I’m also wearing a lot of accessories. My two favs are the new necklace from je suis; an owl watch and the mesh bag from *Tea Time*. That’s about all for now. If you made it through reading my ramblings, you get a gold star. ☆
[►] Happy Monday!! Yeah, it’s not so happy for me either..lol. As if Monday’s weren’t bad enough, it’s raining and cold in my part of the world. Thankfully, I’ve once again, got some pretties to show you guys! First of all, these new boho skirts from [Aura] are so perfectly boho. They’re long, flowy, and have a floral waistband..oh and they’re mesh. They come in tons of colors, so I suggest if you’re a fan of the boho scene, you stop by and check them out. Also, while you’re out shopping, you have to hop over to FFL and demo this hair from Discord Designs. I haven’t taken it off since I got it and for me, that’s sayin a lot since I change 10893703 times a day! The braids are sooo well done and it’s mesh..and I really just can’t say enough about it! Izzie’s has also released some new mesh eyes, they’re a bit darker than the previous release, so those of you who love the darker eyes, these are a def must see for you guys! ♥
[►] Boots. I love boots. I admit, they are my guilty pleasure. And man, do I have a pair of boots to show you today! The new Desire Ankle Boots from [Gos] are unbelievably amazing. They will be available Saturday, March 10th, so I highly suggest you prepare yourself for some boot shopping this weekend. The stub toe of these makes them even more sexy. They are available in four colors, are fully mesh, and have metallic texture change options. I know you’re gonna love them. ♥
[►] SO MUCH MESH!!! You guys gotta check out March Mesh Madness 2012. It’s amazing. Both this Magika hair and Jane dress can be found there. Like I said…sooo much mesh. It’s amazing. I’m wearing the new Vanessa skin from Filthy in the palest tone. It’s adorable, I recommend you demo her. Hope you’re all having a fantastic week! ♥
