Baby, I’m comin for you.

[►] She waited.  The weight of her body lay against the wall.  She watched the sun and all its color slowly leak from the sky and fall into hiding behind the horizon. She bit her lip, closed her eyes and took in a breath of the air around her.  The life of the day had left it. She smiled to herself, opening her eyes again. The dark was coming. She felt its absence of warmth fall over her. She had always been in love with the darkness. The mysterious veil of protection from the life that plagued her when the vile sun heated the air was something she welcomed openly.  She knew she should move, but she wanted to enjoy this moment just a bit longer.  Her head dropped back heavily against the wall. She closed her eyes again, thoughts of what she’d be doing in a matter of minutes raced through her head. She was confident. She could do anything with the darkness behind her. She raised her foot to the wall, arched her back from it and pushed herself into motion. She opened her eyes and began walking.
